SUDAN SHOULD NOT BE REWARDED WITH AU SUMMIT
Article by Kaliseta Marin
Dear Sir,
People of conscience are astounded by the inaction of the UN Security Council as well as of the AU Peace and Security Council in stopping the carnage going on in Darfur. The Big Powers are waiting for the Africans to help themselves as they claimed it before...shunning their moral responsibility, and the Africans are waiting for the Big Powers to fight off the Janjaweed and the perpetrating regime in Sudan, avoiding their direct duty.
No single African country's leader has explicitly condemned the atrocities, nor PAP condemned the regime itself; instead they lure it for endless talks, and they have rewarded it with the honour of holding the AU Assembly of the African Heads of States in January next year. It is a disdain to the poor people of Darfur! It is 'dedecus' to reason! As an appeal, could the AUF Movement [should] urgently do something on this, please?
