NEW PRESIDENT FOR THE AFRICAN UNIFICATION FRONT
The AUF has a new president, Dr. Caroline Kamau. Dr. Kamau has been serving as AUF Vice President. She is also a writer, teacher, and a feminist. She was born in Nairobi, Kenya.
While serving as AUF Vice President Caroline Kamau has created the AUF's most important initiatives, helped make the Executive Committee more coherent and efficient. Her organization and deliberative skills are critical to the future success of Pan Africanism.
The position of president was formerly occupied by Youssouf Mohamed. The presidency became vacant because Mouhamed was invited to sit on the AUF Board of Directors in recognition of the honour and trust with which he is held within the AUF.
As a Member of the AUF Board of Directors, Mouhamed's new responsibilities include raising the profile of the AUF within the Francophone and the Arabic-speaking communities, and providing oversight.
As AUF President and chair of the AUF National Committee, Caroline Kamau will oversee and coordinate the AUF membership representatives and delegates, and help direct the policy-making process of the AUF.
