CO-ORDINATING GLOBAL TIME TABLES
MORAL IMPERATIVE OF AFRICAN STRUGGLE
The Place of Pan Africanism in the World

In spite of all the things that have in the past hindered our union, Pan-Africanism is in fact the largest and most organized political force on the continent, and is one of the most powerful on Earth, certainly the most positive political force for the overall benefit of the political future of the world.

Pan Africanism has a well-developed and coherent set of motives that have become part of the moral fibre of communities in Africa and abroad, and has achieved already, in its massive contribution and organising principles, the freedom of Africa from slavery, overt colonial domination and apartheid.

All constructive nationalist, social and humanrights movements around world are informed by pan-Africanist realities and organizing principles.

The core message, methods, language and artistic expressions of the African struggle for unity are old and have influenced greatly and trained millions of fighters, resisters, and organisers, of all races and ideologies, many of whom continue to play important roles in leadership and the strengthening of their communities, and in social and civil movements all over the world.

Ho Chi Mihn (Vietnam) did credit Marcus Garvey as instrumental in his political understanding. Eugene Chen (founder of Revolutionary Diplomacy) was a Pan-Africanist and key guide for Sun Yat Sen (founder of the first Chinese republic). Mahatma Ghandi honed his political resistence skills on African streets. Many of Latin America's past revolutionaries are inheritors of Africa's forceful cogency.

Ralph Bunche and Kwame Nkrumah [1958]
However, Ralph Bunche, a leader of the Pan African movement and an authority on African history, stands out especially on account of the fact that he drafted key chapters of the UN Charter, including the articles enshrining nations rights to self-determination.

Building on the resolutions of Pan African Congresses, Bunche organized the UN's transformation of former German colonies into UN-Administered Mandates. Bunche's pioneering work in diplomacy and conflict resolution is vital to modern international relations. In 1949 he won the Nobel Peace Prize for mediating the Israeli-Arab conflict.

While no one seriously disagrees with the aims of African unity, residual divisions among us arise from the desire for limited short-term advantages in local contexts. The limited coordination of global time-tables is a serious hinderance to the total unification or rather, re-unification, of Africa.

The residue operations of colonial interests play a key role in distorting the coherence of the struggle for the soul of humanity, for the right to live in a wholesome human civilization. We are preparing new ways of to augment the mobilizing of our communities to prepare for African integration. A unified Africa is the base upon which we shall build a new human society. The struggle of Africa is for the benefit of all of human civilization.

Best regards,
Dan Kashagama
